GandCrab Ransomware Shut Down After Claiming to Earn $2 Billion

Half an year ago GandCrab was a big buzz. It was not a very long ago when GandCrab has set foot into the Underground world on January 28th, 2018. It has truly terrorized the world or you can say completely filled the gap that has been created by shutting down of of large scale ransomware viruses like TeslaCrypt, CryptoWall, and Spora. Now after a successful tenure of world domination creators behind this enormous GrandCrab has finally decided to shut down their operation for good. It is not wrong to say that this giant Ransomware operation was the only killer on the market since it started. But from past couple of months due to arrival of new STOP Ransomware, Dharma and some new players, it was losing the domination.

GandCrab now has finally stopped their operation as they claim to more than $2 billion in ransom payments, with average weekly payments of $2.5 million dollars. According to the creators last messages posted on the underground hacking world, they personally earned $150 million in total and successfully cashed as well as invested in legal business entities. With this latest announcement they have asked their affiliates to stop promoting GandCrab within 20 days and delete their topic. Apart from this, they also told victims to pay for the decryption key before the time runs out because all the keys will we deleted by the month.
